krewedelusion, a New Orleans satirical Mardi Gras Krewe, announces the launch of a new website that outlines their plan to save the Universe.

episodezero.org – being launched today – addresses the longstanding belief that December 21, 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar’s 5,125-year cycle, will coincide with a global apocalyptic doomsday marking the end of the world.

Their proposal is a radical re-visioning of this event as an opportunity for a new beginning, and calls for a celebration in the streets of New Orleans with an open-to-everyone second-line parade.

krewedelusion is partnering with local, national, and international community groups to organize simultaneous displays of non-violence on December 21st in hopes of inspiring people to counteract rage with outrageous celebration.

The new website is a source of information about the upcoming parade, as well as a global forum to discuss humorous celebratory alternatives to violence.
